Every entry balances before it's posted. Posted entries can't be edited: you correct them with a reversing entry, as in real books.

Amounts are stored as integers in each currency's smallest unit. No rounding errors creeping in after thousands of lines.
Dimensions
Tag lines by project, cost center or person and filter any report without multiplying accounts.
Reports
General ledger with running balance, trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and custom reports.
